Scalextric GT Class

Our GT class has changed for 2016. We’re still racing out-of-the-box Scalextric Super-Resistant DPR cars, but we’ve removed the magnets and added some lead weight to improve stability.

Also for 2016, we’ll be providing a set of race-ready GT cars to run. Our new format means all drivers will race each of the six cars to count towards their final lap score.

Format

Each of the six GT cars is assigned to a hand throttle colour and each driver racers for a set time (between 2 and 5 minutes, depending on numbers) with each car. At the end of each run, the number of completed laps are recorded for each driver.

All six scores are added to give a grand total for each driver. The winner and top junior receive medals and total scores count as points in the GT championship (see table, right - click for a big version).

In the event of a tie, the race win or junior medal is shared.

*All our formats may be tweaked after each event.
